Frank Scalice

President

Frank Scalice born and raised in Brooklyn. He loves to spend time with his family, shown here with wife Lisa and sons Max and Henry. Frank is employed as an Assistant Vice President at Rutgers University in the Business Services division. He was recently featured by MercerMe for choosing to be a firefighter.

John Kennedy

Chaplain

John moved to Hopewell Borough in 1991 from Kingston where he was involved with the Kendal Park First Aid in the mid 80's. He was also involved with Twin W First Aid Squad while working in the Princeton area at CUH2A. John decided about 12 years ago that he wanted to be involved more with the community and began helping out driving the Ambulances at Hopewell Fire Department and Emergency Medical Unit. When he speaks with prospective members he tells them that "It's not as onerous as you might think and you could really help out someone in need". John retired from the State of NJ as a Public Procurement Administrator and has decided he wasn't done searching how to help his community. He has now signed up to attend Fire School so that he can help out the Firefighters on the department. John said "It's never too late to learn more and nothing is more rewarding when helping someone in our community". If John has not done enough for the Community and our department he is also the Hopewell Fire Department's Chaplain because even our own sometimes needs help during stressful times.   John recently received his Masters in Pastoral Care from Fordham University. You can come down any Tuesday at 7 PM and find John checking on the Ambulances if you would like to speak with him about  our department or how to join.

Shea Robinson

EMT/Firefighter

Shea joined the department in 2015 as a junior member, where she excelled on both the EMS and fire side and became the junior foreman! Soon after, she pursued her EMT and firefighter certifications, became a junior advisor, and now rides on Thursday nights on both the ambulance and fire truck. Shea is currently pursuing her degree in nursing. We are so grateful for members like Shea who are extremely involved and committed to helping others.

William Butler

EMT/Firefighter

Bill moved to Hopewell in 1983 and become involved as a Scout leader for 15 years and also enjoyed racing Go-Carts.  Bill further felt a calling to help the community after handing over his Scout Leadership position. He said that he always had an interest in the Fire Department and admired the professionalism of the local EMT's in town. Bills daughters had a friend that suggested that he come down and visit the Hopewell Fire Department where he was a firefighter and EMT. In 2007 that visit is all it took. Bill attended EMT class that Fall and has been riding on a Monday night crew ever since. Bill has risen through the ranks to Chief of EMS and has enjoyed the many friendships he has made in the short time of being part of the department. Bill states "It's a true feeling of pride to be depended on by our community in a time of need and am so thankful that I have the opportunity and ability to provide that help". Bill travels to Metuchen for work on the weekdays. During his time off he spends some of his time outdoors fishing and hunting. The rest of his free time is spent with his wife Cindy, daughters; Mandy, Lisa and Tina, son Billy and his 7 wonderful Grandchildren (soon to be 8 in June). If you are ever interested in wanting to know more about being an EMT please stop down any Monday night around 7 PM to talk to Bill.
